Per T. Ohlssons artikel ”Mannen utan själ” om ”psykopaten” Putin är orimlig och bedrövligt anti-intellektuell.
Ryssland diskuteras inte som del av en konflikt där man också reagerar på något omvärlden gör. Ryssland är den oberoende variabel – aktion aldrig reaktion – opålitlig och farlig.
Artikeln nämner inte tiden sedan kalla krigets slut där NATO-länder valde att inte lägga ned NATO utan expandera alliansen från Baltikum till Tblisi, att splittra upp Jugoslavien med våld utan FN mandat och fortsätta upprustningen även om fienden hade brutit ihop.
Då respekterade kloka statsmän – av den typen vi inte längre har i väst – att Ryssland har säkerhetsintressen längs sin gräns – inte så orimligt med tanke på att USA-NATO ser sina intressen hotade av begivenheter på andra sidan klotet (med 700+ basfaciliteter i drygt 130 länder).
Äger Per T Ohlsson förmåga till politisk empati? Skulle han ha tyckt attdet var helt OK om en tänkt rysk militärmakt med 10x USAs militära styrka försökte att tvinga Canada eller Mexico att gå med i dess allians?

Mr. Fogh Rasmussen’s memory doesn’t go as far back as to the U.S.-orchestrated regime change in Kiev without any moves before by Russia. That was a blatant example of disrespect for a country’s sovereignty that he uses now about Russia’s “aggression” in Ukraine. Read William Pfaff’s sober exposé.
Due to this “slip” of memory, we get nothing but sandbox diplomacy and – dangerous, dangerous – psycho-projections which serve to cover up for the huge EU and US/NATO mistake over the last 20 years in its policies vis-a-vis Ukraine and Russia.
This is dangerous because the wisdom of de-escalation demanded of Russia comes as part of a clear, ongoing and systematic political, media and military escalation on the Western side.

Tragic misuse of a tragedy
The government of Ukraine as well as the separatists, NATO/U.S. and very many leading Western mainstream media seem all to know who has caused the tragedy. Putin believes it was caused indirectly by the West.
Given the fact that very few, if any, people or institutions canknow who did it with enough details, data and precision to accuse anyone, the MH17 tragedy has been misused to an extent that can itself only be termed tragic.
The misuse is tragic because it is a catastrophe for close to 300 people, their relatives and friends. Silence – of both verbal and military weapons – and empathy would have been appropriate.
Anyone pointing fingers and calling it a terrorist act at this point is irresponsibly or should present convincing evidence.
Secondly, the blame game makes the necessary road to peace and security even more difficult.
An All Party Peace Process should come out of MH17 and the civil war
It would have been so much more civilised to use the MH 17 tragedy to say:
