China’s Global Times has asked four European experts to comment on what is happening in Europe. I am one of them, but I would not like to give the impression that I know exactly what is going on. It’s too outlandish and defies rational analysis.

Thanks to its own policies: Europe in a double Cold War
NATO and the EU chose the wrong path after the dissolution of the Soviet Union and the Warsaw Pact. Instead of dissolving NATO, building a new European common security structure and conflict-resolution mechanism à la the UN in Europe, it broke all promises given by Western top leaders to Gorbachev about not expanding NATO ”one inch.”
Deaf and blind to all warnings, Europe – also failing to become more independent of the US – finally fell into its ultimate hubris trap of trying to get Ukraine into NATO against the will of 85% of its people.
The NATO meeting, followed by the Munich Conference of February 14-16, 2025, changed everything. The Trump 2.0 administration bluntly drove over the European allies (not Europe as such, US nuclear weapons remain, and the US wants a future war to take place there to remain unscathed) to build an autarchic Greater America grabbing resources from Panama over Canada and Greenland to the Arctic, Scandinavia and the resources outside what I call Trump’s ”Las VeGaza”.
That Greater America is, of course, all a fantasy that will not come about peacefully.
The cynicism vis-a-vis Europe is indeed tangible. The root cause of the tragic war in Ukraine was neither Russia’s taking over Crimea nor invading Ukraine but the Obama administration’s 2014 regime change in Kiev, the selection of a pro-West/NATO leadership, and arming Ukraine to conduct a devastating politico-military war on everything Russian in that mixed country.
No Western leaders considered President Putin’s concerns about this: NATO had 12 times higher military expenditures than Russia and thought it did not have to listen.
Predictably – because he had said he would stop the war – Trump now deals directly with President Putin and drives over both Europe and Ukraine. His future focus is the Greater USAutarchy and then China.
The Europeans – imbued with self-righteous groupthink (except for Hungary’s Orban) – never grabbed the phone to Putin. It cancelled diplomacy, humiliated Russia and Russians and acted over three years as if they should never meet a Russian again. Childishly, they now feel betrayed by Washington for not being invited to the table! European leaders, despite their manifest havoc and Ukraine’s devastation, insist on ”winning the war against Russia” (now without the US) through continued cynical bleeding of Ukraine, arguing that Ukraine must be further re-armed to be strong at the negotiation table later.
They also talk about NATO soldiers as ”peacekeepers”, shockingly ignoring that the UN is the eminent, experienced peacekeeper.
Europe will now live with a double Cold War – Russia to the East, the US to the West – and militarise itself to death.
Tragic beyond words, it is all of its own making.
It´s the kind of repetition of (banking…)-history that Europe has obeyed, with a peculiar fundamentalistic religious fear/passion for – at least – tha last 300 years (others, maybe even “god”, do the “thinking” for you, right ? )
Napoleon, Hitler … and now, with the latest “version 3.0” of “Mr/Ms. Nobodies”.
All 3 times, wars with 2 mainfronts (or more), all 3 times with the same illusionary concept of “the enemy” – all 3 times leading to the predictable defeat – followed by deep decline and recessions – all 3 times at the cost of most of the people’s lives – all 3 times a profitable bank-business, Rothschild-style.

instead of “REVOLUTION” ( meaning, “yet another round”, in a new shape/form of some kind ) ~ instead, one might concider to make EVOLUTION.
There is nothing to loose by making EVOLUTION ( the “yet another round – system” we’ re living under, is the worst it can be ). By EVOLUTION there is all to win – almost any change now, is very likely to lead to a better situation ~ even anarchy ?:

Let us do everything possible to make those who see through this jungle of ignorance, arrogance, and narrow-mindedness heard and understood by all the others! When most Europeans wake up, history doesn’t need to repeat itself in a new tragedy.
THIS IS THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT,
… And these days something is happening that has never been experienced in last two thousand years.
– The peak of savagery, with the help of wars, back in the second half of the 20th and the first quarter of the 21st century, the leaders of a state known for its prosperity spread their demo(n)cracy around the world, humiliating the peoples of many other countries, appropriating their natural and manufactured goods.(!!).
At the same time, the country of prosperity, with leaders of fallen spirit, is expanding its warrior tribe, and are launching an even stronger offensive of their expansion at the turn of the millennium.
– Why is the history of mankind intertwined with periods of peace and periods of war? Despite the fact that all the great Teachers of the faith, throughout history – preached Peace! …
– Isn’t the time long past ripe for every person on Earth to find the path to Peace – within himself ?
– Will the man of today also be enlightened with the PATIENCE of the wise head of a great state, never seen before in the history of warfare? – the peace-loving state that did not want to dig up the hatchet despite thirty years of roaring war cries around its borders?
– Will our hearts and souls be touched by the fact that the wise, and above all, so PATIENT head of a great country, in order to defend it from dark warriors, had to start killing his own people? Has anything like that ever been seen in the history of man? The alternative was to allow even greater suffering to his people – from invading warriors, conquerors of a fallen spirit (!)
– Will the man of today be sufficiently enlightened by the three-year intense threat of the destruction of the world by atomic bombs, the destruction of the world as we know it today? …!
– And last but not least: – Will the man of today, in an age when AI cannot offer him a replacement for the HUMAN heart, recognize in himself the sign of the Peacemaker who chose a representative in the land of the previous warriors and robbers?
– Isn’t something happening right in front of our eyes these days that will enlighten even the most darkened among us? – In the world it happened, perhaps the last attempt of our enlightenment – the representative of the country of warriors – has already started his peace-making campaign!

– How many people had to bleed to death in this world, in order for us to understand our truth – we were deceived that our satisfaction could be some fleeting values,… So that now, finally, seeing through the dirty deposits collected from weaknesses from the environment, we would understand that my true satisfaction is the unlimited joy that arises when I get hold of the treasure of humanity hidden in each of us…! …
