Trump Caught the EU Off Guard

How amazing! The Danish government seemed unprepared for the eventuality that President Trump, if elected, would insist once again on getting Greenland – and a few other “things.” Who was asleep – or much too occupied with hating Russia and helping Ukraine to see what was coming?

Secondly, Trump – who is no peace-maker but has other motives – grabbed the phone to Russian President Putin. Why did no European leader do exactly that during the last almost three years? And why did Europe not foresee that he would do that; Trump had said time and again that he would engage in the Ukraine war and stop it.

They sat there hearing and seeing nothing of what – very predictably – happened outside their European groupthink box.

This interview by the China Academy and Thinkers Forum was recorded on February 12, that is, before the disaster unfolded further at the NATO meeting and the Munich “Security” conference.

  1. If Greenland gets incorporated in the US, the greenlanders will lose all their social, health and educational benefits and be side-lined with the poor class of the US. What else? They should be clear thinking about that. Greenland has no industrial base. Thus the buzz word independency is an illusion. The Greenland elite can only sell Greenland´s resources and live from wealthy tourists abroad So, as it is, Greenland better keep integrated in Denmark.
About Ukraine, and in contrary to the Democratic and European warmongers, I definitely support Trump´s endeavours to make peace. Moreover, Trump has access to the archives under Obama/Clinton that can confirm and proof that they massively supported the regime change in Ukraine i 2014. Thus the European narrative that Russia unprovoked attacked Ukraine is pure fraud.

  2. It looks to me more complicated than expressed in the comment above.

    Greenland :

A problem can’ t be solved by the same way of thinking, that created the problem.

There are no easy solution. Still, I think it is important to start a proces, towards independancy.

The faroese people is in a similar position, and has been more succesfull in navigating in troubled waters.

    Icelandic people even more so.

These neighbouring people of the North share many things, and can hopefully support eachother.

In Middle’europe Serbia, Slovakia and Hungary share a similar situation, and have for long worked together, with som interesting results.

If the nordic countries realised that they at present in a trap, which split them up and arrest them, both internally as well as amongst them – then they could begin building/rebuilding an axe of co-operation between them – based on internal alliances – and in the same time – non-alliance and open dialogue in business- and other spheres, with the world outside, with the “west” as well as the “east” – US/EU og BRICs.
This could not only stabilize this axe of people and countries within, but could even influence and stimulate a constructive and mutual beneficial development for their neighbours in all directions.
In a proejct like this, there would be so much to win, and very little to loose.

A fundamental precondition is that people is deeply connected to their identity, history, culture etc.
” Give me a place to stand, and I’ll turn the whole world ” ( Arkimedes )

There may also be something to learn from the meeting between maories and european settlers in New Zealand.

There may be other examples of different groups living together to learn from; but the main impression of meetings between cultures and civilizations is generally discouraging, from a historic perspective.

    Ukraine :

    Originally means : borderland.

Historically 12 empires have invaded the territory through the last 1000 years. All leaving a residual of people, ethnicity, language, culture, religion etc – so today Ukraine is a melting pot, representing it all at once.

Unfortunately Ukranies leaders never really understodd or respected that premise. On the contrary, the last many leaders tried to established a false choice for it’s people. A choice betwwen “west” og “east”, between religion/language etc.
It is just as horrible as to ask a child with a ukranian mother and a russian father to choose between them, accept the one and with a gun to shoot the other. This is an example, but in the real world there are hundreds of thousand og these families – and they are torn into pieces, because policies like these.

Maybe ukrainiens should also be part of an axe, as bescribed above. And be part of a neutral / non-alliance axe from the black Sea – through Scandinavia – to North Atlantic – Arctic – including the Aleutian Islands.

There are new ways – and other solutions – what will happen if we let go of the way of thinking, that created the problem ?

    1. Well, it is complexed, but without an industrial base it is an illusion for Greenland to become independent. So as the situation is right now, Greenland must choose between American or Danish affiliation. And the welfare of Greenlanders, not their corrupt elite, will be significantly impaired if Greenland becomes part of the United States.

  3. So instead of looking at it from the outside, lets look at it from the inside:

The internal conditions in this axis of people and countries, stucked between great powers, points at an interesting solution – a solution that the fighting great powers doesn’ t recognize.

It would be naive to believe that the great powers will find a realistic solution, based on the same way of thinking, that created the problem.

The strongest motive behind peace-talks between US and Russia is internal economic problems in US, natural ressources – AND – a wish from the US to build up a confrontation against China.

Marc Rubio mentioned China more than 50 times in his speech recently in Europe. Nothing has changed – just a pleasing rethoric for the “presidential honeymoon”.

” rebuilding trust to the leaders ” as the main purpose was expressed during the last WEF-meeting in Davos.
