I am very proud to be involved in this new Scandinavian peace prize, together with other fine peace people and TFF Associates. The foundation operates in honour of an old dear TFF Associate, Fredrik Heffermehl (1938-2023).
Please read about the Lay Down Your Arms Peace Prize award and why it has been given to Francesca Albanese, the UN Special Rapporteur on the occupied Palestinian territories. And help us reach many more with this piece of very good news.
LDYA’s Peace Prize (Euro 10,000) is awarded in the true spirit of Alfred Nobel’s will. Read also about this new peace organisation and who is behind it.

This is fantastic. A great initiative.
Since the spirit of the Nobel Peace Prize has been politicized by the West, and therefore, in my opinion should be abolished, this is something that I hope can take over the mantle and be a meaningful and aspirational award.
Well done, and keep up the good work.
Thank you so much. All those of us involved in the LDYA and its Prize are grateful for such a comment. 🌞
Or maybe Putin should get the “Peace Prize” for his unilateral restraint ?
I don’t know too much about this María Corina Machado, receiver of the Nobel Peace Prize today. Seemingly she “works to promote democratic rights for the people of Venezuela and for the struggle for a just and peaceful transition from dictatorship to democracy”.
That sounds pretty good.
I am afraid, however, that she will – if she isn’t already – be used as another puppet for the US, especially now that an US attack on the country seems likely and imminent.
Mind that in the last few years, the majority of the recipients of the NPP has gone to people within countries that the US/West wants to regime change. Russia, Iran, Venezuela.
There’s nothing about this announcement that makes me think that the Nobel Committee hasn’t been politicised, rather the contrary.
Mr. Oberg, I’m curious to hear what your views are on the recipient of the NPP as well as my comment.
