The talk of Biden’s situation never mentions the most frightening aspect: He is the supreme commander with a finger on the nuclear button.
That said, when I read NATO’s 2024 Washington Summit Declaration, I seriously wonder whether organisations, too, can suffer from – dangerous – dementia.
The statement is: words, words, words. Blind and dangerous groupthink. Unbearably self-congratulatory and self-righteous. One long denial that NATO is party to any conflict. Filled with self-deceptive mantras about defensiveness and peace. Repetitive ad nauseam. A display of intellectual and moral disarmament – of ever-increasing militarism and nuclearism. Paranoid. Rich in logically contradictory statements and psycho-political projections. Assertive without analyses. Provocative without introspection.
Enigmatically, the statement leaves out that NATO has God on its side and serves as his Church.
In short, it is one long indicator of how weak, how braindead AND therefore, dangerous the alliance has become. I hope you are, at least, half as concerned as I am!

Den groteske situation, du beskriver, overgår ( svarer minimum til ) Kubricks satiriske film, ” Dr. Strangelove ” (1964). Den satiriske film foregriber de aktuelle begivenheder.

Det bliver i denne situation svært at skille latter og gråd fra hinanden; dog vinder gråden, harmen og indignationen, når tanken ledes hen på den omfattende og meningsløse lidelse og død, for alle involverede parter, som den aktuelle situation allerede har ført til – med udsigt til endnu mere i den kommende tid.

Efter sigende blev udformningen af nato’s warroom efterfølgende kopieret/afledt af filmens fremstilling – hvadenten det er historisk korrekt, eller en vandrehistorie, så illustrerer det, hvor lidt fredsbevarende funktion der findes i nato; andet end et herreløst “manuskript”, et falsk alibi og en morbid teaterkulisse for imperialisme, penge- og militær-magt.

Even the fictional “war room” from the movie has been adopted by Nato and FIFA; which by the way, has other unpleasant similarities – or rather discrepancies – like for example : what has nato to do with peace ? – or what has FIFA to do with a fair footballgame ?
